Our morning began with an emotional time of worship music and morning prayer. Our own Canon for Global Mission, Fr. Keith Allen, was our liturgist, and Mrs. Sally Breedlove led our prayers. After the Very Rev. Paul Donison presented Colossians 3:18-4:18, the Most Rev. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of Uganda, preached. Archbishop Kaziimba encouraged us to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ by devoting ourselves to prayer, and cautioned us against trying to minister without prayer (our own prayer life and the prayer support of others). Following what has been the customary time of repentance over what we had heard preached, led by Archbishop Jensen, the Rt. Rev. Francis Karemera of Rwanda’s Cyangugu Diocese, on behalf of Archbishop Laurent Mbanda, thanked Archbishop Foley Beach for his service as Gafcon Chairman, which is now concluded. The Primates Council has elected a new Chairman, whose name will be announced later today.
