It’s my pleasure to introduce to you three people stepping into new roles around the Diocese. Ms. Catherine Datres has this month joined the Diocesan staff, taking up the role of Executive Administrator. Additionally, two of our parishes have recently called new rectors: Fr. Daniel Hixon has been called as Rector of The Mission Pensacola following the retirement of Fr. Ron Browning, and Fr. Craig Sanders has been called as Rector of Christ The King in St. Augustine following the retirement of Fr. David Allert. Please join us in heartily welcoming them into these new ministries!
Catherine Datres

Catherine Datres is a member of All Souls Anglican Church in Jacksonville, Florida. She is married to Mike and has two daughters, Alex and Tori. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Finance and received her MBA from the University of North Florida.
She comes to the Diocese with 30+ years’ experience in the banking industry with an emphasis in Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Regulatory implementation.
She has a passion for mission work and financial literacy. For missions she is a certified Perspectives Coordinator and has participated in several gospel sharing missions in Cuba. For financial literacy she is a certified financial coach assisting individuals on personal financial goals and has led a financial workshop in Ireland.
The Rev. Daniel Hixon

Daniel McLain Hixon was born and raised in North Louisiana. His faith-formation was mixed: he was confirmed in a United Methodist Church, attended a Roman Catholic elementary school, and a Southern Baptist youth ministry. While at LSU in Baton Rouge he met his wife, Christene, at church. It was in college that he also developed a love for The Book of Common Prayer. Through involvement in campus ministry, he felt the Lord’s call into pastoral ministry and attended seminary at Southern Methodist University. He served as an elder in The United Methodist Church for 16 years. In 2023 he left the UMC and joined the ACNA. He was ordained in the Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast by Bishop Clark Lowenfield. Daniel and Christene have four children: Elizabeth, Julia, William, and Katherine.
“We are very excited about settling into our new home in Florida,” Daniel writes, “making new friends and connections around the community and within the Diocese, and discovering what the Lord has in store for us in years to come.”
The Rev. Dr. Craig Sanders

Craig Sanders will begin serving as Rector of Christ the King Anglican Church in St. Augustine, FL, in July. He is currently completing a curacy at Holy Cross Cathedral. Before being ordained, Craig earned his Ph.D. in Christian Theology at Saint Louis University, studying under Michael McClymond. His research focused on a theology of work and rest. Craig is married to Kaitlyn and they have two children, Auggie and Elowyn.
“I’m most excited about listening to and learning about the members of Christ the King so I can help them identify their spiritual gifts and equip them for ministry,” Fr. Craig writes. “I’m also eager to identify ways we can establish a meaningful presence in the community, so that we can form a multigenerational congregation reaching young professionals and families while fostering deep discipleship.”
