The Assistant will focus on discipleship and ministry to young families, but will be engaged with every aspect of the life of the church:
• Preach and celebrate on scheduled Sunday worship services (twice a month).
• Lead Bible studies, assist and/or preside at weddings, funerals, special services, and pastoral visitations.
• Attend and participate in Vestry meetings.
• Participate in the life of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese.
• Meet regularly with the Rector.
The Assistant Rector will have the expectation of becoming the rector when the current rector retires within 2 years. More information at the St. Francis website.

The Pastor will serve as the primary leader of the church, training the Ministry Team leaders to do the work of ministry, while being advised by the elected Vestry. The Pastor is responsible for spiritual education, programs, sacramental duties, use of facility, and hiring and firing of all paid and volunteer staff. With these responsibilities, the Pastor has full authority over each of these areas, and will run the day to day business of the church within the budgetary limitations provided by the Vestry. The Pastor is accountable to the members of the church and the oversight of the Bishop.
